Editing: Assured quality for all translations
Editing, much like proofreading, plays a central role in our tested quality management system.
During editing, an independent linguist checks the translation for its idiomatic correctness, content, punctuation, grammar and terminology, among others.
In contrast to proofreading, the source text is not compared with the target text in this step. Editing deals exclusively with the translation (i.e. target text) and its adaptation to the desired target group (if required).
However, editing and proofreading also have something in common: the translators and the editors or proofreaders work separately in both cases. The translation can therefore be viewed, evaluated and, if necessary, adapted in a neutral manner.
